Mooresville boys’ basketball program placed on probation

MOORESVILLE, Ind. — The Mooresville High School boys’ basketball program has been placed on probation for violating Indiana High School Athletic Association guidelines.

The IHSAA made the choice throughout a gathering Monday, citing “severe” and “unacceptable” violations of its bylaws by second-year Mooresville head coach Shabaz Khaliq. The probation lasts till the top of summer time 2023.

The IHSAA cited 4 violations beneath Rule 20 protecting undue affect, which the IHSAA defines because the “act of encouraging or inducing a potential pupil to attend a faculty for athletic functions,” or, in easier phrases, recruiting.
